What are you/they waiting for?
- Waiting for an end to rumours about the fire being 'an insurance job'?
- Waiting for clarity about who is paying for the post-fire demolition work on the pier platform?
- Waiting for the end of the winter storms & more structural reports?
- Waiting for the completion of the competition for the design of the new pier?
- Waiting for lottery funding to the tune of £11million?
- Waiting for the completion of the compulsory purchase order?
- Waiting for Godot to appear at The White Rock Theatre?
Back in October, the Sunday after the fire, I interviewed the first passer-by for her reaction.
I found that she said she was going to begin supporting the Pier Trust.
If she has, great.
If not, wouldn't you wonder 'why not?'; what has impacted since October that means a change of plan?

The latest update from HPWRT: We have "got the good news that the new survey said the pier could still be rescued. So now we can all go forward, We find out about our heritage Lottery bid in April, The CPO is going forward but still has a way to go yet, lots more fences to jump and hoops to crawl through before we get to the end.
The emergency fund money is still coming in; we have had donations from Germany, Spain, USA, and Australia. One other thing you can all do to help us is to join the trust, it does not matter where in the world you live you can still become a member and it is one way all our funders gauge the support we have.
See www.hpwrt.co.uk to down load the form, if paying by paypay please make sure you write in the comment box the money is for a membership and leave your full name address and email. Thank You. Membership forms can also be collected from the Pier Shop, The Stalls in Priory Meadow. I will also put a list of other places on our website next week."
